Graeme has led the VAMFF Festival and its world-class team since his appointment as Chief Executive Officer in 2011.
After graduating from his Bachelor of Arts Degree at RMIT University he was awarded ‘Australian Young Designer of The Year’ by Woolmark, which was followed by over a decade of working with leading fashion brands, retailers and marketing agencies in Europe.
Returning to Australia in 1997, he was involved in the development of ‘Australian Fashion Week’ in Sydney, was Creative Director of ‘Melbourne Spring Fashion Week’ and subsequently joined the global team at IMG as a Senior Executive for the Asia Pacific region and was instrumental in the establishment of a range of events including ‘Singapore Fashion Festival’, ‘Hong Kong Luxury Week’ and ‘Sydney Fashion Festival’.
Graeme contributes to a number of initiatives that enhance the growth and development of Australian creative talent. He sits on the ‘Creative State Advisory Board’, chaired by the Minister for Creative Industries, Martin Foley to help oversee the delivery of Victoria’s first creative industries strategy. He is also a member of the ‘Industry Advisory Group’ for RMIT University’s School of Fashion, is a member of the ‘Australia Global Fashion Alliance’ and the ‘Australia China Fashion Alliance’, is a resident judge for the annual ‘National Designer Award presented by David Jones’, the ‘National Graduate Showcase presented by AMP Capital’ and the annual ‘Australian Fashion Laureate’. He has judged the ‘RACV Victorian Tourism Awards’, the annual ‘APEX Teenage Youth Fashion Awards’ and has been a presenting panellist for the ‘Annual Public Galleries Summit’.
